Woodworking
I picked up woodworking in school, thanks to access to the woodshop in Columbia’s Makerspace. Here are some of the things I’ve made since.
Cutting boards
For $5, my roommate and I were able to get unlimited scrap wood from a luxury furniture designer in Brooklyn. We used it to make cutting boards.
Watch trays
Made using the same scrap wood and a CNC router. I made the round ones by 3D modeling them in Blender before CNCing.
Bookends
A gift for my brother’s graduation from UChicago. Inscribed with quotes from his favorite books on a laser cutter, with metal bottoms cut on a water jet.
Vinyl bin
A box with mitered corners made out of plywood to store some of my vinyl records. I used a hand router to make handles in the sides.
Speaker stands
Stands for my speakers to isolate them and bring them up to listening height.
